The St Teilo SingersThis is a peripatetic liturgical choir that grew out of the generations of students that Christopher Maxim conducted as members of the Cardiff University Church Choir at St Teilo's Church from 1993-2000. Over the years the membership of the choir has developed to include graduates who sang at St Teilo's after Chris's time there; and also friends and family members, many of whom have no direct link to St Teilo's Church or even Cardiff University, but who love singing and enjoy the ethos of the choir.
These days The St Teilo Singers meet up about once every couple of years to sing at a cathedral or major church. |

Over a weekend at the end of August the services at Bristol Cathedral were sung by the St Teilo Singers, who were on fantastic form. They were a delight to work with and their period of residency proved a fitting highlight with which to end the summer of 2022.
Of particular note was the Seventh Service, specially composed by the gifted Christopher Maxim, which he subsequently shared with us, and which will be an excellent addition to the Cathedral’s repertoire. Rarely am I tempted into the Cathedral for services on a day off, but the St Teilo Singers were too good an opportunity to miss! We really hope they’ll return soon. Canon Nicola Stanley, Canon Pastor and Vice Dean We were delighted to welcome the St Teilo singers to Bristol Cathedral in August 2022. They clearly enjoyed making music together and brought fine quality singing and playing to enhance our worship. The programme, including two choral Evensong services and the Sunday choral Eucharist, included settings composed for the choir being sung for the first time which were excellent! As others have noted, the choir were warm, friendly and appreciative of the hospitality of the Cathedral. The Very Reverend Dr Mandy Ford, Dean of Bristol |

It was a huge pleasure to welcome the St Teilo Singers to Exeter Cathedral. They sang at Evensong and the Cathedral Eucharist with skill and an obvious love of making music together. They chose varied and appealing music, including superb music written for the choir. And they were complemented by wonderful organ accompaniment. They were a pleasure to work with and we had a sense that they were delighted to engage with the Cathedral community. A big thank you to the choir for their commitment of time, talent, and enthusiasm.
Canon Chris Palmer One of the special joys was to have, as the setting, a Mass which had originally been written for the first Mass of Rev’d Timothy Hunt at St David’s in Exeter. Timothy has a very long standing association with the St Teilo Singers and the fact that he was free to sing with them on this occasion was just lovely – for him – for the singers – but especially for us. The choir visited Gloucester Cathedral for a weekend in August 2016. They sang Evensong on Saturday and Sunday and at our Sunday morning Eucharist. Their singing was of excellent quality, they chose a wide range of music, which they sang with a devotion and enthusiasm that inspired our congregations to worship. The organ voluntaries were excellent. We had many appreciative comments from visitors and regular worshippers. We valued the way the choir did not just come to sing, they really engaged with the cathedral and made it their home. We specially enjoyed the way they came to coffee after the Eucharist and mingled warmly with people. We do hope they will return soon!

This excellent choir came to sing at Ripon for a weekend in August 2014. It was a privilege to have them with us and the standard was of the highest quality – choice of repertoire, performance, behaviour exemplary. They were a friendly cooperative group and we will gladly welcome them back in the future. Many of our visitors and congregation commented afterwards on how good they were. I recommend them to you wholeheartedly.
