Chris has a broad conducting experience but specialises in choral music (including works with orchestra) and holds the diploma of FVCM (with Honours) in choral conducting.  He particularly enjoys directing chamber and liturgical choirs and has conducted performances for BBC radio and television. 

He has held a number of conducting posts, including:
  • The University of Bristol Church Choir
  • The Cardiff University Chamber Choir
  • The Cardiff University Church Choir
  • The Cardiff Bay Singers
  • The Elizabethan Singers of London

He has also directed many school, church and community choirs, and ensembles.  Before moving to London he taught choral and orchestral conducting (among other subjects) at Cardiff University.

Chris conducted the Giltspur Singers from 2003 to 2021 and there many performances that may be heard on YouTube.  He continues to direct the St Teilo Singers and the choir of St Mary Magdalene's, East Ham.  He has been appointed Musical Director of the Havering Singers from September 2025.
