May 2024Over the last month there have been numerous performances of Chris's music, including several of the Prelude & Fugue on the Name of Durufle by Dr Anthony Gritten, Head of Undergraduate Studies at the Royal Academy of Music, a performance of Aurora Lucis Rutilat at St George's Catholic Cathedral, Southwark by Alexander Wilson (as part of the London Festival of Contemporary Church Music), and the public premiere of Ars Vitae by Simon Scott Plummer and Richard Murray in the Blackheath Music Festival. Chris has recently completed two paid commissions. A few weeks ago he composed a setting of 'Rejoice in the Lord', requested for the 40th anniversary celebrations of the present St Bartholomew's Church and Centre in East Ham. He has just finished Ars Vitae, a cycle of songs for two bass-baritones with piano accompaniment, commissioned by Simon Scott Plummer.
