The 1970 Rushworth & Dreaper organ, The Church of the Good Shepherd, Heswall, Wirral
This excellent instrument was Chris's favourite practice organ when he was a teenager on account of its clarity and immediacy (and the dearth of mechanical action instruments on the Wirral -- this was the next best thing). The panelling around the console is not original: it appears to have been added since the choir stalls were removed (the church is now Evangelical in character). The Parish of Heswall is aiming to build a new church building on the site and the organ has (thankfully!) been moved to St Luke's Holmes Chapel where it has been placed on the west gallery and provided with a new, detached console.
