The Miller organ, Calday Grange Grammar School, West Kirby, Wirral

This photograph was taken in 1989.  Chris was Organ Scholar at Calday from 1984-1989.  To the right of the console can be seen one of the four large speaker cabinets.

The sounds made by this instrument were pretty good for its period (late 1960s?), though there was no doubting that it was electronic!  It was hugely useful for practising and was played in assemblies every day.  Sadly it is no longer in situ, though the last report of it was that it was languishing at the back of the stage.  The console was well made and Chris managed to get the drawstops replaced in about 1987.  It would be ideal for modernisation.
